How to Avoid Volunteer Burnout
While volunteers are imperative in a successful sports program, be careful of getting any one parent over involved, which could lead to burnout. Some parents naturally step up as leaders and tend to take too many responsibilities upon themselves, and can end up feeling over worked and under appreciated.
It is important that responsibilities be divided up among different parents and other willing parties in order to prevent this type of thing from happening. A successful program depends on the input of many people, not just the over extended efforts of one or two willing parents. The more people you can get involved in your program, the easier it will be for everyone to continue to participate.
