Local Goalies Shine at National Competition!
The 2008 Got Skills National Championships were held in Boston, MA at Boston University’s Walter A. Brown Arena on June 27-29th. Over 120 players from 14 states competed, with each player representing their local NHL Hockey Club and Market. For the Dallas Stars Hockey Club and market, 12 players qualified to attend the semi-finals on Saturday June 27th at the Nationals event in Boston. For the first time ever, a DFW Metroplex goalie in ALL 4 age groups advanced to the final round.
These talented goalies and their age groups are:
Cameron Casey of Frisco (Squirt age group–House division) - Finished in 3rd place at Nationals
Blake Sibley of Keller (Squirt age group-Travel division) - Finished in 2nd place at Nationals
Patrick Faulkner of Euless (Pee Wee age group- House division) - Finished in 2nd place at Nationals
Sean Kuehn of Flower Mound (Pee Wee age group- Travel division) - Finished in 4th place at Nationals
Special congrats to all the players who represented the Dallas Stars and the DFW Metroplex in Boston! This competition showed that the DFW Metroplex is quickly becoming a growing force in US youth ice hockey.
